Description
Chaga (clinker polypore), dried and in pieces. Wild-harvested, hand-sorted and gently dried.
Chaga grows as a black, deeply cracked outgrowth on living birch trees and is a sterile mass of mycelium, not an ordinary fruiting body. Charcoal black on the outside, rust brown where broken. It takes many years to reach a marketable size and occurs mainly in cold regions of northern and eastern Europe.
