Description
Tinder fungus, diced and dried, wild-harvested. Hand-sorted and gently dried.
The tinder fungus grows as a hoof-shaped, grey bracket on beech and birch trees and can live for decades. Tinder has been made from its trama since the Stone Age, Ötzi, the man from the Tisenjoch, carried it with him. The same material is still used today to make tinder fungus leather.
